The Meet and Greet Just Got WAY Better

Congrats and big kudos to Entercom for taking listener experiences to a whole new level with their “Get Schooled” program in conjunction with Guitar Center.

Listeners now have a chance to not only meet some of music’s luminaries, but also get some hands-on advice and coaching on how to become better musicians themselves. Featured on the Guitar Center website, “Get Schooled” has rolled into 8 Entercom markets, allowing listeners to interact with artists and acts like Little Steven Van Zandt, Motley Crue, Rush, The Presidents of the United States of America, Seether, Spoon and The Bravery. It’s not only about music, but also the best way to promote and the inside skinny on the music business.

Last night, Sully Erna, front man for multiplatinum Universal Recording artist Godsmack, schooled select WAAF-FM/Boston listeners on the drums. Most likely, the best lesson they may ever have. In fact, it was best summed up by young drummer, 11-year old Nolan Ward of Portland, Oregon, who got to hang out with The Presidents of The United States of America. “They really rocked out.”

“Get Schooled” is one of the more innovative and intimate listener experiences we’ve seen in a long time. It matches the power of radio and the vision of an advertiser and brand. Most importantly, though, it clearly shows the passion of music and radio in a way that won’t soon be forgotten by these lucky individuals.
