November 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

The Client: McDonald’s

The Campaign: McDonald’s Live Broadcast

The Agency: Emmis Indiana

The Audience: WTHI, Hi-99 listeners

The Scope: Terre Haute, Indiana

The Challenge: To raise awareness of the new McDonald’s restaurant in Terre Haute.

The Creative: Hi-99 has worked with McDonald’s before with great success, so they recreated the magic of a previous campaign to drive people to the store. The station planned a two-hour live broadcast with a pre-promotion email blast to the station’s 10,000 listener database the week of the event, plus on-air live and recorded promos. The two hour grand opening was broadcast live.

The Results: A promo offering Big Macs to the first 150 customers brought in 350 people, and the client was given airtime to talk with on-air personality, Doc Long. The restaurant also hit sales records within the first few days.

Platforms: On-air
