This is an email we received from a Xhang Creative client today:
“Regarding Bridgetown Village Condos…. Radio really does work!!! Two condos sold pending financing approval. 30 groups on Saturday, 50% said the radio ad sent them. Others were drive by, web site, Willamette Weekly Ad.”
The Bridgetown Village spots ran on KNRK/Portland (94.7 Alternative Portland) only. It shows that a targeted message, on the right station, can yield some impressive results.
Congrats to ID Graphics and Bridgetown Village (the clients) and Entercom Portland (the station). Well done.
As I walked into this year’s US Open at Flushing Meadows, I had to a double take. I saw an American Express sign that, in bold letters, read “RADIO.” I HAD to see what this was all about. [Read more →]

This is truly a sad day for the voice over world. LaFontaine was the consumate pro and, in many ways a true legend and inspiration for generations of talent all over the world.
As I went on to Pandora today, I noticed some new stuff. First, the “thumbs-up/thumbs-down” buttons are visible under each song. But, what was really interesting was that there are now station options with each artist, including an option to “add variety to this station.” Now, you can add other artists to your base/core artist to widen the scope of your stations.
Anyone who is a native Minnesotan (like me) is OK in my book. Throw in the voiceover thing, and you’ve got me. Bob Souer, a veteran voiceover talent, runs a great blog that gives some very interesting perspective and insight into the V.O. world. In fact, you could consider this one of the definitive words in voiceover. On his site, you are connected to TONS of other V.O. blogs/forums and plenty of other resources that gives you an inside look at this unique craft.
Make sure you listen to his demos. Bob is nothing short of vocal bliss.
